Canoeists successfully completed their qualifying round. All three Slovenes secured their position in the semi-finals. Anže Berčič finished in 8th place with Benjamin Savšek right behind him in 9th place. Jure Lenarčič ranked 25th.

The fastest three qualifiers were Sideris Tasiadis from Germany with the time of 97,41, David Florence from Great Britain and Takuya Haneda from Japan.

Benjamin Savšek (C1): I am pleased with the ranking. I was more relaxed in the second run so I did better. The boat flew well so the performance was successful and I reached today’s goal getting into the semifinal. The course is selective and needs technical skills, but I enjoyed it. I am glad that there are many supporters on the stand despite the rain and I look forward to sunny Sunday’s race when there will be even more spectators.
